Meet the Principal

Dear Mount Carbon Families and Community,

It is with great excitement and heartfelt enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Mount Carbon Elementary. I am honored to join a school community known for its strong values, dedicated staff, and vibrant spirit.

As an experienced educator and school leader, I bring with me a deep passion for creating inclusive, supportive, and engaging environments where every student can thrive. My 11 years as a building leader have taught me the profound power of connection—between staff, students, families, and the broader community—and I am committed to building strong relationships based on trust, transparency, and shared purpose.

I value being approachable, open-minded, and genuinely eager to listen and learn from each of you. Whether it's at morning drop-off, in the classroom, or at community events, I look forward to meeting you and working together to continue the tradition of excellence at Mount Carbon.

I have two teenagers at home (Charlotte 13, Noah 16) and an amazing wife (Jami) who I’ve been married to for 22+ years. Even though we are beyond the elementary school years, we still continue to navigate the challenges and successes of each school year, so I understand how important a school and life balance can be for a family. Just like I do at home, I will encourage, challenge and support all students to not only maximize their potential, but to also be an integral part of the school community.
