About
The original Mount Carbon School was one of four schools built in the late 1890s and is the only structure of the four still standing. It is now a residence, one and a half miles west of Kipling Street on Hampden Avenue. Mount Carbon is also the name of a knoll located northwest of Simms and Highway 285, part of Bear Creek Lake Park.
Mount Carbon’s current building opened its doors in 1996 and serves preschool students through fifth grade. The school is in the Summit Ridge Middle and Dakota Ridge High School attendance area.
Mount Carbon is a high-achieving, data-driven school. Social emotional needs and interactions are also cultivated in safe and nurturing environments.
